How can I manage competing priorities?
Asked by Jerry M.
OptiModel's answer
Use the Eisenhower Matrix to sort tasks into four categories: urgent & important, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, and neither. For instance, responding to a customer complaint is urgent and important—do it now. Planning next quarter's strategy is important but not urgent—schedule it. Sorting emails may feel urgent but is often not important—delegate or limit time spent. By applying this method, you avoid firefighting all day and focus on long-term impact.
